Jump Start — April 29th 2010, (Roundhouse, Yaletown)
Jump Start is our opening night exhibition, held this year at the Roundhouse in Yaletown from 11am to 10pm. Artists will be in attendance during the reception between 7pm and 10pm. It will feature new works by 52 artists, in many mediums such as acrylic, clay, bronze, and photography.
18th Annual Art Walk — May 1st & 2nd (Kits, Dunbar, Kerrisdale, West Point Grey)
The Art Walk takes place Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6 pm and includes 31 venues with 52 artists. AIOM is the Lower Mainland’s first Art Walk, which started a wave of similar community art events such as the Culture Crawl. This free event encourages approachability between community and artist and takes place in the format of a self-guided tour through artists open studios, on the weekend of May 1st and 2nd. (11:00am -6:00 pm)
This is the most diverse and innovate group to exhibit to date under the auspices of Artists in our Midst. Listed below is a selection of a few of our 52 exciting artists.

The whole city is shocked by the news and every eight hours or so the media reveals more information about the murder. A woman went for an afternoon jog and was killed and we still don’t know how and why. The RCMP and the media are surrounding our house. I really feel like I’m living in a horror movie right now. The large Crime Scene Investigation Unit arrived and police dogs. All traffic is blocked off and in a very sad and ironic way it is very peaceful here. The University Endowment Lands consist of 750 hectors of land and the police are doing a thorough grid search right now. My heart goes out to the woman and her family.
